Walking is considered one of the best forms of exercise and is a great way to stay in shape.  It is a particularly excellent choice for overweight or obese individuals who need to lose weight.  Walking gets people moving.  It is a low impact activity that has a lot of health benefits like this infographic illustrates:

Reduces stress and anxiety

Limits illness (like the risk of catching a cold)

Once an individual gets used to regular walks, he or she can tweak the experience by adding ankle or wrist weights, holding dumbbells or walking on an incline.
