I am not here to sell you any magic belly fat or weight loss loss pill, drink, piece of equipment, formula or diet plan.
I am only here to pass on certain information - information that should be of interest and importance to you if you are serious about losing weight and improving your health. You may think you already know everything there is to know about weight loss and dieting - after all, there is all kinds of information available online, on TV and in books. However, much of this information is not based on science, is conflicting and even dangerous. Most of all, its confusing.
Yes, the American public is very confused and very misinformed about diet and nutrition. The majority of Americans eat the "standard American diet" - otherwise known as "SAD".
And, it is, indeed, very SAD because the majority of Americans are overweight or obese, suffer from an array of chronic illnesses, rely on prescription and OTC medications, supplements and what have you, are at a high risk for life-threatening diseases and are dying from diseases that are preventable through proper nutrition.
The latest scientific research overwhelmingly shows that food is our very best weapon against obesity and disease. The world's leading scientists, nutrition experts and doctors are all making the same recommendation: that we must adopt a plant-based diet - not just for our own, individual sake, but also as a solution to world hunger, to stop the destruction of the planet and to put an end to the suffering of billions of animals used in food production on an annual basis.
Our eating habits in the United States (and in other "wealthy" nations) are costing us billions in out-of-pocket, tax and other dollars in the form of subsidies and grants to big agriculture and pharmaceutical companies, health care costs and environmental clean-up expenses. With our current SAD food choices we are, in effect, directly putting money into the pockets of corporate giants and special interests (who do not have our health, welfare or best interest in mind and who only care about the bottom line in their financial statements); we are financing our own self misery and demise and that of our children; we are aiding and abetting the systematic destruction of the planet; and (last, but not at all least), we are contributing to the suffering of animals, who are, after all, sentient beings.
I am very glad you are here and reading this. I spent many hours researching and compiling the information from as many independent, "non-conflicted" sources as possible in order to present you with an accurate picture of what is really in our modern food supply and how that affects your health, the health of your children and loved ones, and how it all contributes to your weight and medical issues.
I only ask that you look at and consider the information with an open mind and an open heart. If any of the information presented in this blog inspires you to make healthier food choices, or to look into the matter further, then I feel I have done my job.
